What NFL Teams Are Coming To The UK in 2017 & When Do They Play?

With the NFL fan base continuing to grow in the UK, it becomes more apparent that a UK franchise just may happen. When and where that team might be are questions that we are no nearer to knowing.

Until that happens though, we have a whole host of games coming to London which includes some great teams with an already brilliant and established history.

So, what teams can we look forward to seeing in London during the 2017/18 season?

Baltimore Ravens vs Jacksonville Jaguars

When? Sunday 24th September

Where? Wembley Stadium

Kick Off? 2:30pm UK time

The Jacksonville Jaguars are regulars to the UK and have hosted a game in London since 2013, winning two and losing two (2-2). This year Jacksonville are joined by the Baltimore Ravens, who will be visiting the UK for the first time since the NFL International Series started in 2007.

New Orleans Saints vs Miami Dolphins

When? Sunday 1st October

Where? Wembley Stadium

Kick Off? 2:30pm UK Time

Similarly to the Jacksonville Jaguars, Miami are no strangers to the UK with this being their 4th appearance too. The Dolphins were one of the first ever teams to play American football in the UK as they kicked off against the New York Giants way back in 2007 in a game that the Giants came out victorious, 13-10 – a low scoring affair.

New Orleans also have some history here as they followed the San Diego Chargers (now the LA Chargers) over the pond in 2008 in a game that they won 37-32, so they will have fond memories of London.

Arizona Cardinals vs Los Angeles Rams

When? Sunday 22nd October

Where? Twickenham Stadium

Kick Off? 18:00 pm UK Time

The Los Angeles Rams are returning for a second-straight year and will be hoping for a better result than the one they had in 2016 – a loss to the New York Giants, 17-10. The LA Rams did also visit the UK when they were in St. Louis and they were on the end of an even worse result – losing 45-2 to the New England Patriots in 2012.

The Arizona Cardinals will be debutants in 2017 when they will be the Road team in this fixture. They will be hoping that the UK Arizona Cardinals fans will be at Twickenham in full force to cheer them onto victory – they might be encouraged to return again in their next few years if they do win.

Minnesota Vikings vs Cleveland Browns

When? Sunday 29th October – to be confirmed

Where? Twickenham Stadium

Kick Off? 13:30pm UK Time

The Cleveland Browns are first-timers to playing their football in the UK and they will hope that they will be taking the win back to Cleveland with them after a below par 2016 season. They face a tough contest against a Minnesota Vikings roster that will also feel they underachieved last year.

The Minnesota Vikings have been to the UK just once before in 2013 when there were two games for the first time and they beat the Pittsburgh Steelers, 34-27. A similar score in this one would be greatly welcomed by everyone, especially the Twickenham crowd.

A lot of NFL teams elect to have their Bye week after their game in London to give them an extended break between two fixtures. Whether they do elect to have their Bye week after London games is largely their choice and the Baltimore Ravens have already thought about opting to not have their Bye week after their game on September 24th 2017.
