What Happened When We Visited The NFL On London’s Regent Street

Once again this year the NFL has taken over the world famous Regent Street in London. The award winning fan event (presented to us this year by visitmexico.com) certainly stirred up a buzz in the capital today. We, here at ITEZ, visited the coveted event and wanted to bring you a roundup of this year’s NFL on Regent Street.

NFL on Regent Street is a giant version of the NFL Tailgate events that occur around each International series game. They provide a great variety of events to entertain all ages. Whether you are there for merchandise, activities, freebies, live interviews, to learn more about NFL or just a great day out we couldn’t recommend this event more.

Upon leaving Oxford Circus tube station you are instantly greeted by a buzzing crowd of NFL fans, shoppers and every day Londoners all getting a piece of the what the NFL has to offer. The whole place is covered in banners and with the help of some giant televised screens on the ground drawing you in coupled with an atmosphere teeming with excitement you get that real celebration feeling walking down the street.

Some notable activities included the NFL Lab where you pit your skills against the NFL’s finest athletes, getting involved in field goal and throwing tests against your friends and the mini pitch events for kids.

The main stage featured live interviews with Sky Sports’ Neil Reynolds and past and present NFL players, coaches and pundits including Drew Brees, Sean Peyton and the UK’s very own Jay Ajayi. In between interviews fans are treated to some great live entertainment bands and of course NFL Cheerleaders!

The International series sponsors also brought a host of great events with them the Forza Motorsport 7 experience, Game Pass complete with 3 storey viewing platform of Regent Street, Bose raffle event and the Subway street band. Regent Street also teamed up with local restaurants and shops to offer some amazing on the day discounts something definitely worth remembering for next time!

There were plenty of freebies on offer including Pepsi Max bottles, tasters of Drum & Kernel popcorn as well as NFL themed subway merchandise. On top of these freebies and similar to the tailgate events using your 2017 London games app you can scan activity QR codes for chances to win prizes, including official NFL merchandise and game day upgrades! The fun didn’t stop there with multiple stands set up for children’s face painting and wash off NFL tattoos to keep the little ones entertained.

NFL merchandise is available all along the street including the main NFL Shop and smaller outlets. If que’s there were too big Niketown London at Oxford Circus has a huge selection of NFL gear available from all 32 teams.

All visitors were spoilt for choice with photo opportunities ranging from the coveted Vince Lombardi trophy in the Big Rig, inside an inflatable Dolphins helmet, in front of a pair of giant Dolphins receiver gloves or the more neutral NFL shield and Football.

NFL Regent Street is a great day out and we would recommend any fan of the NFL to check it out. Anyone who did manage to get down to Regent Street today Tweet us your pictures @IntoTheEndZone_. Hope to see you all down at Wembley Stadium for International Series Game 2 tomorrow when the New Orleans Saints take on the Miami Dolphins.
