NFL Thanksgiving Day Games On UK TV – When, Where & What Time?

Thanksgiving Day is a national holiday celebrated by the United States, Canada, and some Caribbean islands and a big part of this traditional is American Football. For us, in the UK, it means that there is NFL coverage on all evening!

In fact, we will highlight the games that are live on TV, where you can watch them and when to put the reminder in your calendar so you don’t miss out on the action.

Week 12: Detroit Lions vs Minnesota Vikings

Date: Thursday 23rd November 2017

Time: 5:30 PM (UK Time)

Channel: Sky Sports Action

This will be, arguably, the best match up of the day. Minnesota Vikings have won their last 6 games and the last game they lost came against the Detroit Lions. The Lions have won their last three. One team will lose their current winning streak!

The first of the three games on Thanksgiving Day will be a battle of the NFC North in which Minnesota Vikings are currently atop with an 8-2 record. The Detroit Lions are close in behind with a 6-4 record and will be hoping to take one step closer to the top of the division.

Almost all of Detroit’s previous games have been high-scoring ones – bar the game with the Vikings in October – and this could be another big scoring game with the two teams’ offenses performing well in recent weeks.

Week 12: Dallas Cowboys vs. Los Angeles Chargers

Date: Thursday 23rd November 2017

Time: 9:30 PM (UK Time)

Channel: Sky Sports Action

Preview: The Zeke-less Cowboys have lost their last 2 games since his absence and Dak Prescott is starting to look human after all, after putting in a bit of a stinker of a performance against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 11.

On the flipside, Los Angeles Chargers are on a high from their Week 11 high-scoring win over the Buffalo Bills.

This will be a tricky one to call, although you might slightly favour the Dallas Cowboys who always play at home on Thanksgiving. Both teams still have hopes of reaching the playoffs and although there is still a lot that can happen between now and the playoffs, this game will affect the chances of one team getting there.

Week 12: Washington Redskins vs New York Giants

Date: Friday 24th November 2017

Time: 01:30 AM (UK Time)

Channel: Sky Sports Action

We finish off the NFL Thanksgiving Day games with another divisional rivalry when the Washington Redskins take on the New York Giants. Both teams would have hoped for a better start to the season – especially New York – but this game will be competitive with a lot of pride at stake.

In their last game, the Washington Redskins did their best Atlanta Falcons impression by throwing away a big lead against the high-flying New Orleans Saints and the New York Giants won a late battle with the Kansas City Chiefs to bag just their second win of the season.

The two teams will play each other twice between now and the end of the season and both will want to end Thanksgiving Day with a win.

And, if all of that action wasn’t enough, we are running a competition with My Touchdown Box to win loads of awesome NFL gear in your team’s colours. The competition ends on Thanksgiving though, so make sure you enter before it finishes.

Have some pancakes, pumpkin pie and Turkey. Sit down and watch the NFL all evening. And, be in with the chance of winning some free NFL merchandise. That’s your Thursday night sorted!
