ITS BACK! Like most of you probably are, I’m absolutely buzzing for the new season, these last 6/7 months have dragged so much like they seem to do every year after the Superbowl.
Last year was my first year tipping having been betting the last 8 or so years on the NFL, I finished 31/51 on all single selections with just the one treble landing at 13/2 and plenty of near misses along the way, we would have been slightly in profit come the end of the regular season and I’m hoping to improve the strike rate this season with one season tipping under my belt.
So here we go, same as last year I will be backing these selections as singles and a treble.
Total team points over 21.5 (5/6) Bet365
The Texans have a tough trip to open their season away at New England but the Patriots tend to be slow starters defensively, especially last year when in their first 3 home games they conceded 42,33 and 33 points to there opposition, one of which were the Houston Texans, before Watsons torn ACL last year he was tearing the league up and an early contender for rookie of the year, if he starts anything like he did last year this line shouldn’t be to difficult to pass.
New Orleans Saints
-9.5 Spread (10/11) Bet365
On paper and everywhere else this looks a full gone conclusion to me, the Buccaneers have no Winston to start the season and I wouldn’t be confident with Fitzpatrick steering them anywhere close to the Saints in this one.
New Orleans are absolutley stacked on offense and have a defence on the rise, basically they’re one of a handful of teams this year with a complete team in all 3 phases and surely a lock for a playoff place even before they’ve taken the field.
Total team points over 23.5 (5/6) Bet365
Ok like a lot of people I’m expecting better things from Cleveland this year, well it’s not too difficult for a team that’s finished 1-31 in the past 2 seasons, but the Browns are still the Browns and the Steelers just dominate this matchup year after year, Conner will start at RB whilst the Bell situation is up in the air, in my opinion he is more than capable of filling in for or even replacing Bell this season.
Pittsburgh have averaged over 25 points against Cleveland in their last 5 games need I say more.
