Okay, so I don’t think many fancied the Browns to crush the Falcons or the Titans to destroy the Patriots not even their most devout fans, but that’s the NFL and these upsets happen from time to time! Unfortunately, last week there were a few and two of them were teams I tipped up. (Doh!)
It’s Week 11 now and I’m still chasing that elusive treble to help us with a full house. It’s been a pretty poor showing in regards to these tips so far this year and all my other wins have come by basically putting a pin on something random I fancied, but that’s just the way this season has gone. This week though could prove to change our fortunes.
Pittsburgh Steelers @ Jacksonville Jaguars
Steelers -5.5 Point Spread – (10/11) – Bet365
Pittsburgh has won 5 straight and Jacksonville have lost 5 straight. There’s an opportunity here for the Steelers to get their revenge after last seasons divisional round playoff loss to Jags too.
The Jags simply aren’t the team they were last year and will be trying to stop the rot against one of the best offences in the league this year – I just don’t think it’s gonna happen. Pittsburgh completely blew out an excellent Panthers team on Thursday night football last week and they’ll be buzzing for this one and have had that all important extra few days rest.
Denver Broncos @ Los Angeles Chargers
Chargers -7 Point Spread – (10/11) – Bet365
The Broncos have lost 6 of their last 7 and this is a scalp the Chargers will want to have. It’s not a major scalp but it’s divisional and could prove important later down the line. This Chargers team isn’t the same one of seasons past, they’ve been winning games they should and have been consistent in doing so, and this is another game they should win and if doing so will get them 8-2!
Note that this fixture last year the Bolts won 21-0!
Tennessee Titans @ Indianapolis Colts
Colts -2 Point Spread – (20/21) – Bet365
Last year, with Luck being out injured, the Titans won both their matchups against the Colts. Prior to that, Indy had an 11-game win streak going against Tennessee.
This is a tough one to call considering the Titans destroyed the Patriots last week, but this has huge divisional implications. The Texans haven’t run off with it yet and I fancy Indy here playing some good stuff in all 3 phases and playing against an up and down Titans team this year.
Side note, Indianapolis has won 16 of it’s last 20 against Tennessee.
